The News and Microforms Library (website), located on the ground floor of west Pattee, is home to several unique collections:

Microforms: The term “microforms” is used to describe the microfilm, microfiche, or micro-opaques used for the storage of original sources that have been photographed and then reduced in size in order to conserve space or to preserve materials that may deteriorate rapidly, for example, newsprint.

Newspapers: More than 50 international and domestic daily newspapers are available in the News and Microforms Library.

News Magazines: The O’Toole News Magazine Collection provides a collection of current news weekly and monthly magazines for browsing and leisure reading.

The News and Microforms Library also includes these areas of special interest: the Television News Viewing Area has three televisions broadcasting live news coverage with sound, while the Film Viewing Room can be reserved for film/video viewing by students and faculty in groups of three or more at the News and Microforms Library Reference Desk.

The News and Microforms Library is part of the Libraries' 24/5 Extended Hours facility, with staffing until 2 a.m. Sunday-Friday and until midnight Friday and Saturday.
