Library Learning Services

Library Learning Services combines the former Instructional Programs and Gateway departments. It coordinates activities such as course-related instruction, the use of instructional classrooms, LIAS, CAT, and web seminars, and instructional design within the Libraries. LLS also coordinates an annual Open House and a variety of outreach programs each year to introduce students and others to the Libraries' University Park facilities.

The Samuel I. and Kate Sidewater Gateway Commons (Gateway Commons) is a part of Library Learning Services, providing reference assistance in-person, as well as via telephone and on-line chat.

LLS offers tours and instructional sessions for community groups and conducts outreach programs for freshmen, adult learners, international students, fraternities and sororities, and other cross-disciplinary groups.

In addition, LLS offers an individually tailored research consulting service to guide students through the research process.

The Gateway help desk telephone number is (814) 865-6368
